A private home for your paper.

Scan it, file it, forget where you put it — DocuCasa reads every page, so search finds the words inside your documents. Everything lives in one encrypted file on your Mac — Apple's format, not ours.

Folders on the left, your documents in the middle, every page readable on the right.

What it does

Everything in one vault

Your entire library — documents, folders, tags, notes — is one encrypted file, a standard Apple disk image. Backing up is copying that file. Moving to a new Mac is copying it there.

One file

Really searchable

Text recognition reads every page, even scans. Search finds the words inside your documents, not just their names.

Every word

Paper goes in easily

Feed it a stack from your scanner, snap a page with your iPhone camera, or drop in files from your Mac. Every new page is read on arrival, so it's searchable the moment it lands.

Paper in

Yours alone

No accounts, no cloud, no tracking. DocuCasa never sends your documents anywhere — they stay on your Mac.

No cloud

Never trapped

If DocuCasa ever goes away, your documents don't. The vault is Apple's own encrypted disk image format — the kind macOS itself creates, not something we invented. Inside, your folders are real folders and every document is an ordinary PDF with a readable name. macOS can open the vault without our app, and everything is right where you filed it.

No lock in

Coming from Paperless?

DocuCasa began as a new home for a Paperless library of 17 years and 2,800 documents after Mariner Software shut down. The free migration tool moves your entire library — folders, tags, notes, and every file, verified byte for byte — including encrypted libraries, as long as you have their password.
